Terms and Conditions

Monolith Toledo Concrete, toledoconcretecontractor.com, hello@toledoconcretecontractor.com

Agreeing to these terms

These terms apply when you use this website or hire Monolith Toledo Concrete, a concrete contractor in Toledo, OH. By using the site, asking for an estimate or booking work with us, you agree to them.

If your signed estimate or contract says something different from these terms, the signed document wins for that job. If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use the site, and call us before booking so we can talk it through.

What we do

We build and repair concrete for homes and businesses in Toledo and the cities around it. That includes driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, garage floors, foundations, retaining walls and decorative or stamped work. You can see the full list from our home page and read more about our crew on the About page.

The descriptions on this site are general. The work we do on your property is the work written in your estimate or contract, and nothing on the site adds to it.

Estimates and pricing

We give free in-person estimates with no obligation, because we need to see the ground, the drainage and the access before we can price a job fairly. A written estimate covers the work it describes and stays good for the period it states.

Prices can change once a job is open. Soft or wet subgrade, which is the soil the slab sits on, buried debris, old concrete thicker than expected or roots under the slab can all add work we couldn't see at the estimate. When that happens, we stop, show you what we found and agree on any change with you before we go on.

Changes you ask for after the estimate, such as a bigger area, a different finish or extra steel, are priced and agreed before we do them.

Scheduling, weather and cancellation

We give you a planned start date, but concrete depends on the weather. Rain, freezing temperatures or extreme heat can make a pour weak or unsafe, so we may move your date, and we'll tell you as soon as we know. A weather delay isn't a breach of our agreement.

You're responsible for clear access to the work area on the scheduled day, and for marking private lines such as sprinkler pipes, invisible fences or outdoor lighting that a utility locate won't find. Your estimate or contract will say who arranges any permit the work needs.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, call us at (419) 392-9683 as early as you can. Once concrete has been ordered or site work has started, you pay for the materials ordered and the work already done, as your contract describes.

Payment

Payment terms, including any deposit, are written in your estimate or contract. Unless it says otherwise, the balance is due when the work is finished.

If a payment is late, we may pause further work until it's paid, and you're responsible for reasonable collection costs the law allows. Ohio and Michigan law may give contractors lien rights on property where they've done unpaid work.

Your part after the pour

New concrete needs time to cure, which is the slow hardening that gives it its strength, so we'll tell you when it's safe to walk on it and when it's safe to drive on it. Using it sooner, parking heavy trucks or equipment on it, or using de-icing salt on it in the first winter can damage it, and that damage isn't covered.

Keep downspouts and sprinkler water from washing under the new slab, because water working under the edges is a common cause of settling.

Warranties and what concrete does

Any warranty for your job is the one written in your contract, and we stand behind our work with our satisfaction guarantee as described there. Outside of that, our work and this website are provided without other warranties, to the extent the law allows.

Concrete shrinks as it cures and moves with freeze and thaw, so small hairline cracks can happen even on a well-built slab. We cut control joints, grooves that give the slab a planned place to crack, to keep those cracks in straight lines. Hairline cracks, small color differences between pours and minor surface wear are normal and aren't defects.

No warranty covers damage from settling or movement of soil we didn't prepare, poor drainage on your property, salt, chemicals, heavy loads beyond the design, tree roots, misuse, or work done by others.

Limits on our liability

We're licensed and fully insured, and we take care to protect your property while we work. Still, to the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.

We aren't liable for indirect or follow-on losses, such as lost use of a driveway while concrete cures, unless the law says we must be. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under the law.

Using this website

The information on this site is general and may change without notice, so please confirm anything that matters to your job with us directly. Photos and text on the site belong to Monolith Toledo Concrete and can't be copied for commercial use without our permission.

Links to outside sites are there for your convenience. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for what they say.

Resolving a problem

If something isn't right, call us first. Most problems get solved fastest with a visit and a plain conversation on site, and we'll respond within 1 business day.

If we can't settle it between us, either side may take the matter to a court with jurisdiction over it. These terms, and any work we do, are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, unless the law of the state where the work was done must apply.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and the version on this page is the current one. Changes don't affect a job already under a signed contract.
